We share the message of Jesus Christ while providing ministries, groups, and special events designed to meet your needs. Here at Star of Bethlehem we want you to feel at home. As Christians learning continuously about God’s grace and growing daily in our common faith, Star of Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church exists to serve God and all people with the true Word of God by sharing the faith, hope, and love that are ours through Jesus Christ and to sustain each of our members in the faith by working together in harmony for the spiritual growth and health of the congregation and reaching out to bring the gospel of Christ to others.

At Star of Bethlehem you will get to know a few people who make up our community of faith.  Behind the scenes, we are connected to a worldwide organization of people who share the same beliefs, pool resources so that our member congregations can do things that a single church alone could not do, and enable us to be part of the work God is doing throughout the world.  It’s called the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod.  We call it a Synod, a Greek word meaning “walking together” described a fellowship of 1200 congregations working together to train pastors and teachers to preserve the pure teachings of God’s Word and Lutheran because we share the free message of salvation rediscovered by Martin Luther in the Reformation of the Church.  The headquarters is in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Evangelical is just a fancy word that means that we believe the Bible is totally true and are dedicated to the Evangel (Good News) of salvation by grace through faith alone as taught in the Scriptures.  It’s a lot to say, so we abbreviate it to WELS, which makes us a WELS church.  We are proud to be connected to so many other Christians all around the world, who are working together united in faith, hope, and love.
